ES&S provided design services and construction documents for a pump station replacement and new force main to serve new flows from the City of Holt’s Summit, a bedroom community northeast of Jefferson City’s wastewater treatment facility. The WWTP is collocated adjacent to the City’s Municipal Airport. The pump station was ultimately designed to utilize the existing wetwell and structure to elevate the electrical equipment. Design included approximately 1400-LF of new 12-inch force main, with 280-LF of bored pipe under a taxiway. Due to the proximity of the airport, construction required accommodation to airside operations. Subsurface investigation also had to account for the groundwater elevation, as the jobsite is in the floodplain of the Missouri River.
Pump station design was performed by subconsultant, Burns & McDonnell, under ES&S’ prime contract.
